What it is and who it serves

The ESTONE OZV8E extracts audio from a single HDMI source and sends it to four outputs: 3.5 mm jack, Toslink, coaxial and a dedicated HDMI audio port. It passes 4K video at 60 Hz with HDR and HDCP 2.3 while letting older receivers handle the sound.

When the upgrade makes sense

Use this when your display supports eARC or ARC but your amplifier lacks HDMI inputs, or when you need to split audio to multiple zones without losing 4K 60 Hz video. It replaces basic stereo extractors that cannot carry multichannel formats or HDR metadata.

Capacity and headroom

The 18 Gbps bandwidth carries 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR and formats up to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X over the HDMI audio port. Toslink and coaxial outputs are limited to 5.1 channels, so full 7.1 or object-based codecs require the HDMI audio connection.

Questions about this item

How much space does the 5.59 x 3.15 x 1.26 inch unit need behind my TV?

The extractor measures 5.59 by 3.15 by 1.26 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces, so it fits in tight AV cabinets; allow a few extra centimetres for the four HDMI cables and the DC power plug.

Which toggle position should I choose when connecting a 7.1 receiver via the Toslink port?

Set the 4‑position switch to the 7.1 label before powering on; the Toslink output then carries LPCM 5.1 or Dolby Digital 5.1, while the HDMI loop‑through keeps 4K 60 Hz video intact.

Will the included 5 V 1000 mA adapter need replacing if I run 18 Gbps 4K 60 Hz continuously?

The supplied DC 5 V 1000 mA adapter is rated for the extractor’s full 18 Gbps bandwidth and 4K 60 Hz operation; only replace it if the unit loses power or the LED fails.
