What this cable replaces

This USB4 cable replaces older USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.1 and USB 3.2 cables as well as Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 cables. The jump is worth it when you need a single cord that handles 240W charging, 40Gbps data and 8K video simultaneously. It consolidates multiple legacy cables into one bi-directional, reversible connection.

40Gbps data and 8K video

The cable delivers up to 40Gbps bandwidth, enabling a single 8K display at 60Hz or dual 4K displays at 60Hz. Data transfer rates reach 20Gbps on Gen2 ports and 40Gbps on Gen3 ports, copying 14 hours of HD video or 25,000 photos in about one minute. Actual speed depends on the host port used.

Sustained 240W power delivery

Under continuous load the cable supports PD 3.1 Extended Power Range at 48V/5A for 240W, plus 36V/180W and 28V/140W profiles. It charges a compatible 16-inch laptop from 0 to 60 percent in 30 minutes. The soft, durable jacket resists stiffening during long charging sessions, maintaining flexibility for daily use.

Questions about this item

What connector type does this 5ft USB4 cable use?

It uses USB C male to USB C male connectors, bi-directional and reversible, so either end fits any USB-C port.

How do I get the full 240W charging speed from this cable?

Pair it with a PD 3.1 EPR charger that delivers 48V/5A; the cable supports up to 240W but only reaches that level when both charger and device negotiate the extended power range.

When should I replace this cable if I use it daily for 8K video and high-speed data?

The cable is built for a long bending lifespan; replace it if you notice intermittent video at 8K@60Hz, data drops below 40Gbps, or physical wear on the connectors.
