What this cable does and who needs it

This ESTONE PQ099 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 cable carries 20Gbps data, 100W power and 4K 60Hz video over a 10ft USB-C to USB-C link. The two-pack suits users who want identical cords for a desk and a bag, or for charging a laptop while driving a monitor. It is not for buyers who need a USB-A connector or a shorter cable for tight routing.

Installing the cable and common pitfalls

Plug either male end into a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery; the cable is passive and requires no driver. Video will not appear if the host or display lacks Alt Mode, and charging will fall back to lower wattage if the brick or device does not negotiate 100W. Backward compatibility with USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 is automatic.

Check your setup before ordering

Verify that both the source and the sink have USB-C ports and that the source advertises DisplayPort Alt Mode for 4K 60Hz output. Confirm the power supply can deliver 100W over USB-C PD 3.0 or 2.0 if you need maximum charging speed. Ensure the 10ft length fits the intended run without strain.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the cable is delivering 20Gbps data speeds after connecting my SSD?

Check the transfer rate in your OS file copy dialog or run a benchmark tool; the cable supports up to 20Gbps when both host and device use USB 3.2 Gen 2x2.

What comes in the box and do I need a separate power adapter for 100W charging?

The 2-pack includes two 10ft USB-C to USB-C cables; a 100W-capable USB-C power adapter is required separately for maximum charging speed.

Which cable version should I choose for 4K 60Hz video versus 2K 144Hz gaming?

This single PQ099 model handles both — 4K at 60Hz and 2K at up to 144Hz — provided your laptop and monitor support DP Alt Mode over USB-C.
