SATA III 6 Gbps Cable Pack
This three-pack supplies 18-inch SATA III data cables rated for 6.0 Gbps. Each cable connects hard drives, solid-state drives, CD-ROMs and writers to internal motherboards or host controllers. The straight 180-degree connectors include a locking latch for a secure fit. Backwards compatibility covers SATA I and II devices.
Locking Latch Connector Design
Both ends feature a straight connector with an attached locking latch that resists disconnection from vibration or movement. The latch engages the drive and motherboard ports without tools. Gold-finger contacts are built on high-temperature-resistant polyimide tape for durability. The black jacket is 18 inches long.
Builders Needing Secure Internal Links
Suits system builders and upgraders who want spare or replacement cables with a positive lock for SATA storage and optical drives. Not for external eSATA ports, angled-connector requirements, or installations needing longer runs than 18 inches. Buyers who want power cables or right-angle plugs should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item
What does the 6.0 Gbps rating mean for my drive speeds?
The cable supports SATA revision 3.0 at up to 6.0 Gbps, but actual transfer speed is limited by the drive and controller you connect.
Which SATA standard does this cable use and what does it cap?
It uses SATA revision 3.0, capping the interface at 6.0 Gbps while remaining backward compatible with SATA I and II devices.
What clearance do the straight connectors with locking latches need to fit?
Each end has a 180 degree straight connector with a locking latch, so allow enough space behind the drive for the latch to engage securely.
