What the cable is and who it serves

This ESTONE USB4 cable connects USB-C devices with a male-to-male, reversible plug. It carries data, video and up to 100 W of power in a single 3.3 ft run. The braided nylon jacket resists everyday wear. It suits laptop owners who need one cable for docking, charging and external displays.

Capacity and headroom

Data moves at up to 40 Gbps with USB4 Gen 3x2 hardware. Video output reaches 8K at 60 Hz, 5K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz, plus 2K at 240 Hz where the display allows. Power Delivery 3.1 EPR negotiates 20 V at 5 A, so a 100 W charger can run a large laptop under full load. The link falls back to lower speeds and wattages when either end does not support the top tier.

Thermals noise and power draw

The cable has no active electronics, so it generates no fan noise and draws no power of its own. Heat stays low because the conductors are sized for the full 100 W rating. In normal use the jacket remains close to ambient temperature even during sustained charging or high-speed data transfers.

Questions about this item

Will this USB4 cable work with my older Thunderbolt 3 dock and laptop?

Yes, it is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices, supporting data and charging at the speeds your older hardware allows.

How can I verify the cable is delivering 40Gbps data and 8K@60Hz video after connecting it?

Check your OS display settings for 8K@60Hz output and run a large file transfer; sustained speeds near 40Gbps confirm the USB4 Gen 3x2 link is active.

Does the box include a 100W charger or just the 3.3ft USB-C to USB-C cable?

Only the nylon-braided USB-C male-to-male cable is included; a PD 3.1 charger capable of 100W must be purchased separately.
