Connectivity for Mini DisplayPort sources

This ESTONE TJ-TDP10 cable links laptops or desktops with Mini DisplayPort 1.4 to monitors or TVs with full-size DisplayPort 1.4. It carries 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 2K at 240 Hz with HDR10, Dolby Vision and 10-bit colour. Gold-plated male connectors and a braided jacket complete the 6.6 ft assembly.

Bandwidth ceiling and backward limits

The HBR3 link tops out at 32.4 Gbps, so 8K 60 Hz 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 requires DSC 1.2 compression. Older DisplayPort 1.3, 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0 ports work but drop to their native bandwidths, capping resolution and refresh rate accordingly. HDCP 2.2 protects premium content only when both ends support it.

Plug-in simplicity and common snags

Male-to-male ends seat with a squeeze-latch release; no drivers are needed on Windows, macOS or Linux. The bi-directional design works either way, yet users sometimes force the Mini DP plug into a Thunderbolt 2 port upside down, bending pins. A tight bend radius near the connector can also degrade the 32.4 Gbps signal over time.
