It suits laptops or desktops with Mini DisplayPort outputs that need to drive high-resolution external monitors, TVs or projectors. The bi-directional design also works from a standard DisplayPort source to a Mini DisplayPort display when that display supports video input.

Capacity and headroom

The cable delivers up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and supports 7680x4320 at 60 Hz with 10-bit colour, RGB 4:4:4, HDR and DSC. It handles 3840x2160 at 120 Hz or 144 Hz, 2560x1440 up to 165 Hz, and 1920x1080 up to 165 Hz. Beyond these rates and resolutions the link will not maintain full quality.

Thermals noise and power
