Share four USB 2.0 peripherals between two computers via a 4-port selector with one-button switching and no driver installation required
This switch lets two PCs or Macs share four USB 2.0 peripherals such as a printer, scanner, keyboard, mouse or flash drive. A single button toggles the active system with LED indication. No driver installation is required on Windows, macOS, Linux or Chrome OS.
The unit draws power from the USB bus so no external supply is needed for typical low-draw devices. A micro-USB female port accepts a standard 5 V adapter (not included) to stabilise operation with higher-draw peripherals such as portable hard drives or SSDs. Only a 5 V source is permitted; higher voltages may damage the switch.
The enclosure sits on a desk and includes two USB 2.0 male cables for immediate connection to both computers. Four downstream Type-A ports accept standard cables. Buyers who need to share devices across more than two hosts or who require USB 3.x bandwidth will need a different solution.

Connect the two included USB 2.0 male cables from the switch to each computer, plug up to four peripherals into the four downstream ports, then press the button to select the active system; the step often missed is attaching a standard 5 V adapter to the micro-USB female port when using power-hungry devices such as external hard drives.
The switch itself has no moving parts or consumable components, so no scheduled maintenance is required; only the two supplied USB 2.0 cables or an optional 5 V power adapter may need replacement if they become damaged.
The bus-powered design limits total downstream current to what the two host computers can supply over USB 2.0, so high-draw peripherals like mechanical hard drives may disconnect unless the optional 5 V micro-USB power input is used.
