Connects 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives via USB 3.0 with included 12V power adapter for data transfer and backups
The ESTONE UT-3112 adapter connects any 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA hard drive or solid-state drive to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It also supports optical drives such as Blu-ray, DVD and CD-ROM units. This makes it suitable for users who need to access data from bare drives without installing them internally.
The adapter includes a 12V 2A power supply required for 3.5 inch drives and larger optical devices. A USB 3.0 cable links the SATA interface to the host system and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports. The gold-finger connector uses high-temperature resistant polyimide tape for durable contact. No driver installation is needed for basic operation.
USB 3.0 provides data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, with up to 6 Gbps possible only when an SSD is connected. Actual throughput depends on the drive capabilities and the host port. The unit has no active cooling; it relies on passive heat dissipation during normal use. Power draw is determined by the attached drive and the supplied 12V adapter.
