Adds an M-key NVMe SSD in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 sizes to a PCIe x16, x8 or x4 slot with an included aluminium heatsink
The Sabrent EC-PCIE card lets you install an M.2 M-key NVMe solid-state drive into a full-size PCIe x16, x8 or x4 slot. It carries the drive on an aluminium heatsink with a thermal pad and ships with all mounting screws and a screwdriver.
This adapter suits systems that have a free x16, x8 or x4 slot and a BIOS able to boot from NVMe over PCIe lanes. It will not accept SATA M.2 drives, B-key M.2 modules or fit into a PCIe x1 slot.
The card presents a physical x16 connector but operates at x4 electrical lanes, so the installed NVMe drive communicates at its native four-lane speed. No other lane widths are supported by this adapter.

The adapter provides a PCIe x4 logical interface, so the SSD is limited to four lanes regardless of the x16, x8 or x4 slot used.
The included aluminium heatsink with thermal pad dissipates heat from the M.2 NVMe SSD during sustained operation.
A full-size PCIe x16, x8 or x4 slot and a BIOS configured for NVMe over PCIe lanes (usually AHCI mode) are required.
