Solar-powered outdoor camera

The eufy SoloCam S230 is a wireless network camera designed for homeowners who want a self-sufficient security device without ongoing subscription fees. It captures 2K resolution video and stores recordings locally on the device. The built-in solar panel and battery eliminate the need for wired power or frequent recharging. It suits properties where running cables is impractical or undesirable.

IP-rated wall mount with spotlight

The unit mounts to an exterior wall and carries an IP weatherproof rating for year-round outdoor exposure. A motion-activated spotlight illuminates the scene when movement is detected, complementing colour night vision that identifies details up to eight metres away. Wireless Wi-Fi connectivity simplifies installation by removing the need for network cabling. Automatic motion tracking follows detected activity across the field of view.

Local AI recording and voice control

On-device artificial intelligence filters recordings so the camera only saves clips when a person is present, reducing irrelevant footage from animals or vehicles. The package includes a USB-C charging cable, screw mount and hardware for immediate setup. Integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant allows voice-activated live views and commands. The system does not support Apple HomeKit, NAS, RTSP or cloud storage options.

Questions about this item

What Wi-Fi standard does the SoloCam S230 use, and what bandwidth limit does that set?

It connects via Wi-Fi, so throughput depends on your router and signal quality; the camera itself does not impose a fixed cap.

What mounting hardware is included for the 4.49 x 3.35 x 1.97 inch, 3.07lb unit?

The box contains a screw mount and a screw pack designed for wall installation.

How is the SoloCam S230 installed, and which step do people often miss?

Mount the bracket with the supplied screws, attach the camera, then connect it in the eufy Security app; skipping the app pairing leaves the device offline.
