The EVESKY C9400-LC-48T is a plug-in switch module that adds 48 copper ports to a Catalyst 9400 chassis. It is built for enterprise access layers that need high-density 10/100/1000 connectivity with integrated PoE support. Network teams deploy it to extend a modular core without replacing the entire chassis.

Capacity and headroom

Each of the 48 ports negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and can deliver up to 60 W under the 802.3bt standard. The module draws its 60 W budget from the chassis power supply, so total available PoE scales with the chassis configuration. Ports that exceed the per-port limit or the chassis budget will negotiate down or remain unpowered.

Thermals, noise and power draw

The line card occupies a single slot measuring 1.6 by 14.92 by 14.57 inches and relies on the chassis fan tray for cooling. It adds 60 W to the system power draw when fully loaded with PoE devices. Acoustic output follows the chassis fan curve and is not separately specified for the module.
