16-channel EX SDI recorder with 8 TB

The Eyemax EX SDI MAGIC DVR is a 16-channel video recorder that supports EX SDI, HD SDI, HD-TVI, CVI and 960H cameras. It comes with an 8 TB hard drive pre-installed and offers two SATA bays that accept up to 12 TB total. The unit records up to four IP cameras alongside the analogue channels.

H.265 compression and multi-format camera support

H.265 encoding reduces storage consumption while maintaining 1080p real-time recording across all channels. The recorder automatically detects analogue, HD SDI, EX-SDI, HD TVI, HD AHD and HD CVI cameras, so mixed installations work without manual configuration. A dual codec engine handles independent video streams for live view and recording.

Check camera types and storage needs before ordering

Buyers who need more than 12 TB of internal storage cannot expand beyond the two SATA bays. The recorder only accepts up to four IP cameras, so systems requiring five or more network channels are not supported. Verify that your existing cameras use one of the listed signal formats; other analogue or IP standards will not work.

Questions about this item

How often will the 8 TB SATA drives need replacement in this recorder?

The unit ships with 8 TB on two SATA bays that each accept up to 6 TB drives, so the installed drives are the primary components that may require replacement after extended write cycles.

What is the first recording limit reached during continuous 16-channel capture?

The recorder handles 16 channels at 1080p using H.265 compression, and the practical ceiling is the 12 TB total storage capacity across the two SATA bays.

How much heat and fan noise does the DVR produce during all-day operation?

With dual SATA drives and a 16-channel H.265 workload the system runs warm but uses a low-noise cooling design suited for continuous indoor deployment.
