16-Channel EX-SDI DVR

The Eyemax EX SDI MAGIC DVR records up to sixteen analogue or high-definition coaxial cameras. It accepts EX-SDI, HD-SDI, HD-TVI, CVI and 960H signals and automatically detects the connected camera type. Two SATA bays support up to twelve terabytes total storage. The unit also records up to four IP cameras alongside the coaxial channels.

Installers needing mixed-format coaxial support

This recorder suits projects that combine legacy analogue cameras with newer EX-SDI or HD-TVI devices on a single box. It is not for installations that rely solely on IP cameras or that require more than four IP channels. Buyers needing audio inputs, alarm inputs beyond the single relay output, or built-in PoE ports should look elsewhere.

Check camera formats and storage plans

Verify that each camera outputs EX-SDI, HD-SDI, HD-TVI, CVI or 960H so the auto-detection works correctly. Confirm the two SATA drives you intend to install do not exceed six terabytes each. Ensure your network can carry the dual-codec streams for remote viewing via the Mr. Patrol app or Mac CMS.

Questions about this item

Which hard drive interface must the buyer already have to install storage in the 2 SATA bays?

The recorder uses SATA drives; each bay accepts up to 6 TB for a total of 12 TB.

Will the 16-channel unit still record from my existing 960H analog cameras alongside newer EX-SDI models?

Yes, the DVR auto-detects Analog, HD-SDI, EX-SDI, HD-TVI, HD-AHD and HD-CVI signals on the same channels.

How can I confirm the recorder is capturing real-time 1080p footage on all channels after setup?

Check the live view and instant replay — both should show 1080p at full frame rate with the Pentaplex recording indicator active.
