Portable 8-in-1 USB-C hub for mobile users

The EZQuest A83D2 adds eight connections through a single USB-C port. It delivers 4K video at 60Hz, three USB 3.0 ports at 5Gbps, four USB 2.0 ports, SD and microSD card slots, and a 100Mbps Ethernet jack. The aluminium-finished hub weighs 33g and includes a 15cm tethered cable. It draws power from the host and passes up to 65W to a connected laptop.

Suits travellers and hot-desk workers.

Anyone who moves between desks, meeting rooms or hotel tables gains instant access to a monitor, wired network, peripherals and card readers without installing drivers. The 65W pass-through keeps most ultraportables charged during a workday. Buyers whose laptops require more than 65W to operate under load will need a hub with a higher power rating.

65W power delivery limits which laptops stay charged

The single specification that decides suitability is the 65W USB-C Power Delivery pass-through. If the connected laptop demands more power than this while driving the hub's ports and external display, the battery will drain instead of charging. Check the laptop's power requirement before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Which of the listed USB versions should I pick for fastest file transfers?

The hub provides three USB 3.0 ports at 5Gbps and four USB 2.0 ports at 480Mbps; use the 3.0 ports for large transfers and the 2.0 ports for keyboards or mice.

What does the 4K@60Hz HDMI label mean when I plug in a monitor?

It supports a 4K resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate over HDMI, so video playback and desktop work appear smooth on a compatible display.

How much power can the USB-C Power Delivery port actually deliver to my laptop?

The PD port accepts up to 100W input and supplies up to 65W to the connected laptop, leaving the rest for hub operation.
