FAIYOU E780 2K chest camera

The FAIYOU E780 is a body-worn CCTV camera that records 2K video at 30 fps through a 180 degree rotatable lens. It captures 1080p or 720p footage in AVI format and stores it on a micro SD card up to 512 GB. A 2.4 GHz wireless link provides up to 108 Mbps data rate for live viewing or file transfer. The unit weighs 50 g and measures 92 x 36 x 18 mm.

Upgrade from basic body cameras

This model replaces simpler recorders that lack a built-in colour screen, one-key voice recording or infrared night vision with automatic illumination. The jump is worth it when operators need immediate playback or deletion on the device itself without returning to a PC. Starlight IR extends usable recording into low-light shifts, while the 1000 mAh polymer lithium battery delivers about eight hours of continuous video. PoE support via DC 5 V adds a wired power option for fixed posts.

Simple clip-on installation

The camera clips to a chest harness or pocket and powers on with a single button for video or voice capture. Footage transfers through the Type-C USB port or by removing the micro SD card; no proprietary dock is required. Common issues include forgetting to format the card before first use, which can prevent recording, and leaving the external antenna folded, which reduces the 2.4 GHz range. The screen menu uses Windows 98 through 10, Mac OS X 10.4+ and Linux for driver-free file access.

Questions about this item

What are the exact body dimensions and weight for the FAIYOU E780 chest camera?

The camera measures 92 x 36 x 18 mm and weighs 50 g, so it fits on a standard chest-mount clip without adding bulk.

How do I start recording on the E780, and what is the step users often miss?

Press the single one-key button once to begin video or voice recording; the step users miss is inserting a microSD card first, because the device has no internal storage.

Which battery and storage components will need replacement on the E780?

The 1000 mAh polymer lithium battery will degrade after many charge cycles, and the microSD card (8–512 GB) should be replaced if it develops write errors or fills up.
