FANXIANG S101Q 4TB SATA SSD

The FANXIANG S101Q is a 2.5 inch internal solid state drive with a 4TB capacity. It uses a SATA III interface and 3D NAND QLC memory to deliver faster boot times and application loads than a mechanical hard drive. The 7mm height fits most laptops and desktops.

Thermals power and noise

With no moving parts the drive runs silently and draws little power during typical workloads. The operating range spans 0°C to 70°C so it stays within safe limits inside standard chassis airflow. No heatsink is fitted or required for normal use.

4TB capacity and 1280TBW endurance

The 4TB capacity provides ample space for large media libraries and backups. A 1280TBW rating and 1.5 million hour MTBF indicate the write endurance needed for heavy daily use. Sequential reads reach 550MBps and writes reach 490MBps.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5 inch SATA drive in a laptop, and what step is often missed?

Slide the drive into the 2.5 inch bay, connect the SATA data and power cables, then secure it with screws; the step often missed is enabling AHCI mode in the BIOS so the drive runs at full SATA III speed.

What maintenance will the QLC NAND need later, and when should I check it?

The QLC NAND relies on garbage collection, wear-levelling and TRIM to stay healthy; run a S.M.A.R.T. check once a year and keep at least 10 percent free space so background routines can work.

At what point does the 1280 TBW endurance limit appear during sustained writes?

After 1280 terabytes written the warranty ends; heavy workloads that constantly fill the SLC cache will hit that limit first, so monitor total bytes written in S.M.A.R.T. data.
