FELLOWES 5015401 LX220 Micro-Cut Shredder

Fellowes LX220 Micro-Cut Shredder

The Fellowes Powershred LX220 is a micro-cut shredder designed for offices needing high-security document destruction. It shreds paper, credit cards, paper clips, staples and junk mail into particles measuring 0.156" x 0.500" at P-4 security level. The unit handles up to 20 sheets per pass with a 9-inch throat width. An 8-gallon pull-out waste bin collects the shredded material for easy disposal.

Installation and Common Issues

Place the shredder on a level surface near a power outlet and insert the waste bin until it clicks securely into position. The 100% Jam Proof system automatically detects and powers through paper jams without user intervention. SafeSense technology stops the motor instantly if hands or pets approach the feed opening. Avoid exceeding the 20-sheet capacity per pass to prevent motor strain during heavy use.

Pre-Purchase Checks

Verify that your workspace accommodates a 20-minute continuous run time followed by a cool-down period for high-volume sessions. Confirm the micro-cut particle size meets your organisation's specific data protection requirements for P-4 classification. Ensure the 9-inch throat width suits the standard document sizes you intend to process regularly. The unit operates on standard mains voltage for typical office environments.
