Purpose and compatibility

This Fervit cable connects a DC barrel jack to the Surface magnetic charging port. It is built for users who want to power a Surface Pro 3 through 9, Surface Book 1 or 2, or Surface Go 1 through 3 from an existing DC power source. The cable carries a 65 W rating and delivers a fixed 15 V output to the device.

Voltage window limitation

The adapter only functions when the source charger can supply between 15 V and 24 V over the 7.9 mm by 5.4 mm jack. If the connected supply cannot reach 15 V, the cable will not deliver power to the Surface. This requirement rules out many lower-voltage USB-C or barrel-jack adapters.
