Fervit M-Key NVMe to PCIe 3.0 Adapter

This adapter connects an M-Key M.2 NVMe SSD to a PCI Express 3.0 x16, x8 or x4 slot. It is built for users who want to add fast NVMe storage to a desktop motherboard that lacks a native M.2 connector. The card does not support SATA protocol M.2 drives.

PCIe 3.0 x4 electrical interface

The adapter runs at PCI Express 3.0 x4 speeds through the x16 edge connector. This single specification decides whether the host platform can deliver full NVMe performance. Systems limited to PCIe 2.0 or fewer lanes will bottleneck the drive.

Supports 2230 to 2280 M-Key SSDs

The board accepts M-Key NVMe modules from 2230 up to 2280 length. It comfortably handles mainstream consumer drives. Builders needing SATA M.2 support or multiple drives on one card must choose a different solution.

Questions about this item

What real-world speed does the PCIe 3.0 x4 link give an NVMe drive?

The PCIe 3.0 x4 connection runs at up to 32 Gbit/s, so a drive that can saturate four lanes will hit its full sequential read and write limits.

Does the adapter accept both PCIe x16 and x4 slots?

Yes, the card fits x16, x8 or x4 slots and negotiates to x4 electrical for the M.2 NVMe drive.

Which M.2 lengths can be mounted on the 90 mm board?

The PCB supports 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 M-key NVMe modules.
