Converts a single SFF8643 Mini SAS HD port into four SFF8482 SAS/SATA drive ports at 12Gbps with integrated power cable and 30AWG construction over 39.37 inch length
This new Fervit cable converts a single SFF-8643 Mini SAS HD host port into four SFF-8482 SAS or SATA drive ports. It supports 12Gbps SAS 3.0 transmission for enterprise HDDs, SSDs and RAID storage systems. The 39.37 inch length allows flexible routing inside rackmount servers and NAS enclosures.
The 1-to-4 fanout design suits administrators adding multiple drives to a single controller port in backplanes or large chassis. An integrated power cable supplies stable power to the connected storage devices, simplifying internal wiring. Builders who require a straight-through single-port cable or external connectivity should look at something else.
The cable is constructed with 30AWG pure copper wire to minimise signal loss and crosstalk at the rated 12Gbps speed. This specification determines whether the assembly matches the controller and drive performance requirements. Verify that the host side uses an SFF-8643 interface and the drives use SFF-8482 connectors before ordering.

The passive 30AWG pure copper wire generates no noise and negligible heat; all thermal output comes from the attached drives and controller, not the cable itself.
You need a single Mini SAS HD SFF8643 port on the controller or backplane and up to four SAS or SATA drives with SFF8482 connectors.
Yes, the 12Gbps SAS 3.0 link down-negotiates to 6Gbps, so legacy drives operate at their rated speed without extra configuration.
