Short .5M cable with SFF8644 Mini SAS HD plug splitting to two SFF8482 29pin SATA connectors, matte black finish

Fervit

Fervit Mini SAS HD SFF8644 to Dual SFF8482 29Pin SATA Cable 12Gbps 28AWG .5M

SKU CH-2FM8-TZE46

Converts a Mini SAS HD SFF8644 port into two SFF8482 29Pin SATA connections for 12Gbps drives using 28AWG copper in a .5M length

  • Connect two SATA drives from one SFF8644 port
  • 12Gbps transfer speed for SAS and SATA drives
  • 28AWG copper core reduces signal loss
  • .5M length keeps server cabling tidy
  • Works with SFF8482 29pin drives in RAID and NAS

Internal storage cable

This .5 metre harness converts a single SFF8644 Mini SAS HD port into two SFF8482 29pin SATA connectors for SAS or SATA hard drives and solid-state drives. The 28AWG copper conductors support 12Gbps transfer rates inside servers, NAS units and storage backplanes.

Builders adding multiple drives

The 2in1 layout suits administrators expanding drive counts in RAID arrays or JBOD enclosures where a single controller port must feed two devices. Installations that require longer runs or external eSATA connections will need a different cable length or connector type.

Connector conversion

The defining specification is the SFF8644 to dual SFF8482 29pin pinout, which determines whether the harness matches the controller and drive backplane in the target system.

Questions about this item

What controller port do I need to plug the SFF8644 end into?

You need a Mini SAS HD SFF8644 port on your HBA, RAID card or motherboard to connect this cable.

Will my existing SATA drives with standard 7-pin connectors attach to the SFF8482 ends?

No, the SFF8482 29-pin ports on this cable are designed for SAS/SATA drives that use the 29-pin connector, not the standard 7-pin SATA interface.

How can I verify the 12Gbps link is active after installation?

Check your controller BIOS or OS utility for a negotiated 12Gbps link speed on each connected drive port.
