SFF8654 8I to eight SATA breakout

This cable converts a single SFF8654 8I Slimline SAS port into eight SATA connections for multi-drive storage expansion. The .8 metre length suits tidy internal routing in compact rackmount servers. A full-housing anti-misplug structure prevents reverse insertion, protecting server ports and hardware from damage.

Builders needing dense SATA connectivity

Suits administrators expanding drive counts on RAID controllers, enterprise servers, workstations, NAS units or storage arrays that expose an SFF8654 8I interface. Not for systems lacking that specific Slimline SAS port or for installations requiring longer cable runs beyond the fixed .8 metre length.

32AWG copper and 24G signalling

32AWG pure low-loss copper wire delivers stable 24G high-speed signal transmission with minimal interference across all eight SATA links. The anti-misplug housing ensures correct orientation every time, reducing the risk of bent pins or port damage during maintenance.

Questions about this item

Does my controller need an SFF8654 8I Slimline SAS port for this cable to connect?

Yes, the cable plugs into a single SFF8654 8I Slimline SAS port on a RAID controller, enterprise server, workstation, NAS or storage array.

Can I attach older SATA hard drives to the eight SATA connectors on this harness?

The eight SATA connectors accept standard SATA drives, so existing SATA hard drives or SSDs can be used alongside the new cable.

How do I confirm the 24G high-speed link is active after routing the .8 metre harness?

Check the RAID controller or host OS for each drive negotiating at the expected SAS 24G rate and verify no errors appear in the storage management console.
