SKU CH-4WVB-64B4T MPN FTLF8536P4BCL

850 nm multimode transceiver delivering 25.78 Gb/s over short-reach fibre links

  • 78 Gb/s throughput for high-speed server links
  • 850 nm VCSEL laser optimised for multimode fibre runs
  • RoHS compliant build meets environmental substance restrictions
  • Hot-pluggable transceiver allows installation without system downtime

25.78 Gb/s 850 nm transceiver module

The Finisar FTLF8536P4BCL is a multimode transceiver designed for 25 GbE links at 25.78 Gb/s. It uses an 850 nm oxide VCSEL and a pluggable form factor for short-reach data-centre interconnects. RoHS compliance supports deployment in regulated environments. Network engineers building 25 GbE fabrics will find it suited to multimode fibre runs.

Thermals, noise and power draw in normal use

The module operates without moving parts, so it adds no audible noise to the rack. Power consumption is low, typical for a 25.78 Gb/s VCSEL-based design, keeping thermal load minimal inside dense server cabinets. Heat dissipates passively through the cage assembly. No active cooling or fan airflow is required for the transceiver itself.

Questions about this item

How do I install the FTLF8536P4BCL transceiver into a server rack?

Insert the module into the compatible cage until the latch engages fully; the step often missed is removing the protective dust plugs from both optical ports before insertion.

What maintenance or replacement will the 850 nm VCSEL transceiver need later?

The 850 nm oxide VCSEL is a sealed component with no user-serviceable parts; replacement is required if link errors rise beyond the 25.78 Gb/s error budget or if physical damage occurs.
