Elite Compact 5.0 System

The Fluance SX50WHC is a 5.0 channel home theater speaker system designed for listeners who want a complete surround setup without a separate subwoofer. It includes two bookshelf speakers, a center channel, and two rear surround speakers, all timbre matched for cohesive audio. The passive design requires an external amplifier or AV receiver to operate. This system suits living rooms or media spaces where a compact footprint is preferred.

Sustained Listening Performance

The silk dome tweeters and midrange drivers work together to maintain clarity during extended movie sessions or music playback at varied volumes. The engineered MDF cabinets are built to minimise resonance, helping the system deliver consistent, distortion-free sound over long periods. Because the speakers are passive, thermal handling depends entirely on the connected amplifier rather than internal electronics. The timbre matched design ensures the front and rear channels blend smoothly without tonal shifts.

Build Quality and Placement

Each cabinet features a white woodgrain finish over MDF construction, offering a rigid enclosure that supports accurate sound reproduction. The compact bookshelf and center dimensions allow flexible placement on shelves, stands, or wall mounts where compatible hardware is used. Rear surrounds can be positioned on side or rear walls to complete the surround field. As a passive 5.0 system, speaker wire connections are required for every channel, so cable routing should be planned during installation.

Questions about this item

Will the passive 5.0 system add noticeable heat or fan noise during long movie sessions?

The speakers are completely passive with no built-in amplifiers or fans, so they generate no heat or mechanical noise themselves; only your external AV receiver will produce warmth.

What amplifier or receiver do I need to drive the SX50WHC speakers?

You must provide a multi-channel AV receiver or amplifier with at least five speaker-level outputs capable of powering 8-ohm passive speakers for front, centre and surround channels.

Can I keep my older stereo amplifier and just add these speakers for surround sound?

A two-channel stereo amp cannot decode multi-channel soundtracks or drive the centre and rear channels; a 5.1-capable AV receiver is required for true surround operation.
