Switches two computers to one DisplayPort monitor at up to 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz with three USB 2.0 ports for shared keyboard, mouse and drives
This new FOCUSTEC KVM switch lets two computers share one DisplayPort monitor and up to three USB 2.0 peripherals. A front-panel SELECT button toggles the active system instantly. The unit supports video up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz, provided both computers, cables and the display support those modes. External power via a USB-A to USB-C cable into the DC 5 V port is required for operation.
The switch draws power from a USB-A to USB-C connection plugged into either PC input port; without this link the USB 2.0 downstream ports remain inactive. Three USB 2.0 Type-A sockets on the output side allow a keyboard, mouse, printer or flash drive to be shared between the two computers. Video cabling can use standard DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, USB-C alt-mode or HDMI-to-DisplayPort adapters on the input side, and DisplayPort or DisplayPort-to-HDMI on the output side.
Verify that each computer provides a DisplayPort-compatible video output and a spare USB-A port for the mandatory power cable. Confirm that your monitor and all cables are rated for the target resolution and refresh rate, as the switch passes through the native DisplayPort 1.4 signal without conversion. Buyers who need more than two computer inputs, higher USB speeds, or audio extraction should look for a different model.

The switch passes up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz, provided both PCs, cables and the monitor also support those modes.
You need two DisplayPort cables from the PCs to the switch, one DisplayPort cable from the switch to the monitor, and a USB-A to USB-C cable from a 5 V source into the DC/5V port to power the unit.
Connect each PC with a USB-A to USB-C cable into its dedicated PC input port on the switch, then plug keyboard, mouse or drives into the three USB 2.0 ports; without both upstream cables the USB hub stays inactive.
