Fujitsu FI-8950 flatbed scanner

Flatbed scanner for archive digitisation

The Fujitsu FI-8950 is a flatbed scanner built for offices and archives that need to digitise bound documents, fragile photographs or oversized originals. Its flatbed design avoids the stress of automatic feeders on delicate media. It suits workflows where single-sheet throughput is less important than careful handling.

Upgrade from sheet-fed only workflows

This scanner replaces a pure sheet-fed device when the archive includes books, passports or damaged pages that cannot pass through rollers. The jump is worth it when a project mixes loose sheets with bound volumes and you need one machine for both. It does not serve high-volume mailrooms that only process standard paper.

Limited by flatbed scan speed

Flatbed operation is inherently slower than high-speed document feeders because each page requires manual placement and a full carriage pass. Batch projects with thousands of loose sheets will take considerably longer than on a production feeder. Buyers who need unattended overnight runs of uniform paper should look elsewhere.
