8-Port VGA KVM Switch for Rackmount Use

The GCROWN 801UK-L lets one USB 2.0 keyboard, mouse and VGA monitor control eight computers from a single 1U 19-inch rackmount chassis. It is aimed at administrators who manage multiple servers or workstations in a compact rack environment.

Plug-and-Play Installation

The unit draws power from the connected computers through the USB and VGA cables, so no external power supply is needed. Switching can be done via the front-panel buttons or the included 2-metre wire-extended desktop selector. The package supplies eight 2-in-1 KVM cables — four at 1.5 metres and four at 1.8 metres — which may limit placement if longer runs are required.

VGA Video and USB 2.0 Console Interface

The console side uses a single VGA port and USB 2.0 ports for keyboard and mouse, so the switch only fits systems that provide those exact connections. Buyers needing digital video inputs such as DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort, or those who require more than eight ports, will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 801UK-L is switching correctly after rack-mounting?

Press the front-panel button or use the 2 m desktop selector; the corresponding port LED lights up and the attached monitor shows the selected computer's display.

What cables and accessories ship with the 8-port VGA KVM and what must I source separately?

The box includes the 1U switch, a 2 m wire-extended desktop selector, and eight 2-in-1 USB-VGA cables (four at 1.5 m and four at 1.8 m). Longer 3 m or 5 m cables are not included.

Should I choose the 8-port 801UK-L or the 16-port alternative for my rack?

Select the 801UK-L when you need to control up to eight computers from one console; move to the 16-port model only if you must manage more than eight systems.
