Shares four USB 3.0 peripherals between two computers via USB-A and USB-C host ports, switching by button or remote at up to 5 Gbps
The GCROWN USB 3.0 switch lets you share up to four peripherals between a USB-A host and a USB-C host. A single button press or the included remote toggles the active computer, so a keyboard, mouse, headset and webcam move instantly from work laptop to personal desktop. The unit is new and operates as a pure peripheral switch; it does not pass video signals.
Verify that one computer offers a USB-A port and the other a USB-C port for the upstream cables supplied in the box. Four downstream ports (one USB-C, three USB-A) run at USB 3.0 speeds and fall back to USB 2.0 automatically. An optional USB-C power input is available for high-draw devices such as external hard drives; connect a charger if your peripherals exceed bus power limits.
Ideal for users who split time between two machines and want a clutter-free way to share USB accessories without unplugging cables. Not suited for anyone needing video switching, single-host docking, or more than two computer connections. Buyers who want monitor sharing or support for three or more hosts should look at a different class of device.

The package includes two USB-C data cables for connecting the switch to both computers and a remote control for switching. No separate cables are required for basic operation.
Use the USB-C upstream port for a computer with a USB-C port and the USB-A upstream port for a computer with a USB-A port; both can be connected simultaneously to share the four downstream peripherals.
The 5Gbps figure is the maximum theoretical bandwidth of the USB 3.0 interface; actual transfer speeds with an SSD will be lower due to protocol overhead and drive performance.
