Three-pole thermal-magnetic breaker rated 40 A at 600 V AC with 18 kA interrupting capacity, bolt-on mounting for GE panelboards
The GE TED136040WL is a 40 A, three-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 600 V AC and 500 V DC. It uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit with fixed instantaneous settings to protect three-phase feeders or branch circuits in GE panelboards. The 150 A frame size and bolt-on mounting suit industrial and commercial power distribution boards.
This unit replaces a lower-rated breaker when a circuit is uprated to 40 A or when a worn device must be swapped within the same TED series footprint. The jump is worthwhile when the panelboard accepts a 150 A frame bolt-on and the available interrupting rating of 18 kA at 480 V AC meets the system fault current requirement.
Thermal-magnetic operation provides consistent overload protection during prolonged loading without nuisance tripping. The fixed instantaneous trip responds predictably to short-circuit currents up to the 18 kA rating at 277 V and 480 V AC. Lug terminals on line and load sides maintain secure connections through thermal cycling in the enclosure.

Yes — the breaker measures 6.31 in high by 4.13 in wide by 4.09 in deep and uses a bolt-on mounting style made for GE panelboards.
Torque the line/load lugs to the value printed on the breaker label or in the GE TED installation sheet; the most common error is using a generic torque instead of the labeled value.
Manually operate the handle once a year and verify trip function per your facility's preventive-maintenance schedule; replace the unit if it fails to trip at its 40 A rating.
