High-interrupting 100 A two-pole breaker rated 22 kA at 120/240 V AC for Power Mark Gold and AQ panels
This GE THHQL series circuit breaker provides 100 A overcurrent protection for residential and light-commercial panels. It mounts by plug-in into compatible AQ load centres and Power Mark Gold equipment. The two-pole design serves 120/240 V AC single-phase circuits with a 22 kA interrupting rating. Lug terminals accept standard copper or aluminium conductors.
Electricians replacing a worn breaker in a GE Power Mark Gold or AQ lighting panel will find a direct fit. The 22 kA AIR rating meets code where standard 10 kA units fall short. Builders using non-GE panels or requiring a bolt-on mounting style cannot use this plug-in frame. Installations needing DC switching or a three-pole configuration must select a different product.
The maximum AIR rating of 22 kA determines whether this breaker satisfies the available fault-current calculation for the service entrance. If the panel's short-circuit study calls for a higher rating, this frame is insufficient. Where the engineer specifies 22 kA or less at 120/240 V AC, the THHQL21100 meets the requirement.

Align the plug-in base with the panel bus stabs, press firmly until fully seated, then verify the toggle moves freely; the step often missed is confirming the breaker locks onto the rail before tightening the lug screws.
Periodically inspect the terminal lugs for discoloration and retorque to the panel manufacturer's specification; replace the breaker if it trips near 100 A without overload or shows pitting on the contacts.
The 100 A continuous current rating is the first limit; sustained current above 100 A will cause thermal tripping before the 22 kA interrupting capacity becomes a factor.
