Five-speaker in-ceiling set

The Acoustic Audio by Goldwood CSic84 set contains five frameless in-ceiling speakers arranged for front left, centre, front right and rear surround positions. Each unit uses a three-way design with an 8-inch poly-cone woofer, a Mylar midrange and a half-inch Mylar tweeter. The system is passive and draws power from any home audio receiver or amplifier with raw speaker wire outputs.

Pressure-lock mounting and wiring

Installation uses a Pressure Lock Mounting System that clamps the speakers to drywall without separate hardware. The required cut-out diameter is 10.16 inches and the mounting depth is 4.06 inches. Spring-loaded terminals accept bare wire; the paintable magnetic grilles snap on after the speaker is secured for a flush, frameless look.

Suits whole-room home theatre

This set suits buyers who want a complete five-channel overhead system with wide dispersion and a frequency range of 40Hz to 20 kHz at 95 dB sensitivity. It is not for listeners who need powered speakers with built-in amplification, wireless connectivity or a dedicated subwoofer channel.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the CSic84 speakers are performing correctly after installation?

Play test tones through each channel from your receiver and verify smooth output from the 8" poly woofers, Mylar midranges and 0.5" Mylar tweeters across the 40 Hz–20 kHz range at the rated 95 dB sensitivity.

What comes in the CSic84 box and what must I supply myself?

The set includes five frameless in-ceiling speakers with magnetic grilles and the Pressure Lock mounting clamps; you must provide a home audio receiver or amplifier with raw speaker-wire outputs rated between 10 and 20 watts per channel.

Which version of the CSic84 should I choose for a standard 5.1 home-theatre layout?

The single 5-speaker set supplies the centre, front left/right and rear left/right channels needed for a 5.1 system when paired with a separate subwoofer.
