Portable 1080p DVR with dual AV inputs

The GRACETOP Mini DVR captures analogue video at up to 1080p resolution directly to an SD card. It accepts two composite sources such as a VHS player, camcorder, DVD player or game console. No computer is required for recording, making it suitable for quick digitisation of tapes or gameplay footage.

MPEG-4 recording capped at D1 playback resolution

Video is encoded in MPEG-4 and saved to the card, but playback on the device is limited to D1 resolution of 704 x 576. The unit supports SD cards up to 32 GB, which constrains total recording time. Users needing higher playback fidelity must transfer files to another screen.

32 GB card ceiling defines recording headroom

A 32 GB card holds several hours of MPEG-4 footage at D1 quality before filling. Long events such as full football matches or multi-tape VHS sessions may exceed that space. The package includes a 12 V power adapter, remote control and two RCA cables for immediate setup.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2 Port model or is there a single-port version?

The listing specifies the 2 Port option, which provides dual RCA inputs for connecting two analogue sources at once.

What does the 1080p camera resolution figure mean for my recordings?

The unit accepts up to 1080p input but records at D1 resolution, 704 x 576 pixels, in MPEG-4 format.

Which interface does the recorder use and what limits does it impose?

It uses composite RCA AV inputs and writes to SD cards up to 32 GB, so recording time is capped by card capacity.
