8-Channel 4K NVR Kit with 2TB Storage

This GW Security GW7808NP kit includes an 8-channel NVR pre-installed with a 2TB hard drive and four 4K IP bullet cameras. The system supports up to eight PoE camera inputs for plug-and-play installation. It is suited for homes or small businesses that want a complete surveillance package with room to add more cameras later.

H.265+ Compression and PoE Power Delivery

Video is recorded using H.265 HEVC compression to reduce bandwidth and storage consumption across all channels. Each camera receives power and data through a single Ethernet cable connected to the NVR's built-in PoE ports. The NVR outputs 4K video via HDMI and VGA for local monitoring, while the cameras operate silently with no moving parts.

Expands from Four to Eight Cameras

The kit ships with four cameras but the NVR accepts eight, so the system grows without replacing the recorder. Each included camera features a 2.8-12mm varifocal lens adjustable from 115 degrees down to 22 degrees, letting you trade field of view for distance. Buyers who need more than four cameras immediately or who require wireless connectivity will need additional hardware.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the four GW8150MIC cameras to the GW7808NP NVR and which step is often missed?

Plug each camera into one of the eight PoE RJ45 ports using the supplied 60 ft or 100 ft Ethernet cables; the step often missed is linking the NVR to your router with the 10 ft cable so remote viewing works.

What maintenance will the pre-installed 2TB hard drive need over time?

The 2TB HDD runs continuously; plan to check SMART health annually and replace the drive if reallocated sectors appear or capacity drops below recording needs.

At what point does the H.265+ compression limit appear during continuous 4K recording on all channels?

With eight channels at 4K 2160p 30 fps the 2TB drive fills in roughly a week; the storage limit is reached before any processing bottleneck.
