Premium fine-art inkjet paper

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth is a 100 percent cotton rag paper with a white matte finish. The surface is engineered for ultra-smooth texture and a slightly higher white point than the Photo Rag 308 reference. Each sheet measures 8.5 by 11 inches and weighs 305 gsm. The pack contains 25 sheets.

Ideal for gallery prints and archival portfolios

Photographers and artists who need acid-free, lignin-free media for long-term preservation will benefit from the rag composition. The paper is not suited for buyers who require glossy or satin surfaces, nor for those who need roll formats larger than 60 inches or sheet counts beyond 25.

Consistent output during extended print runs

The optimised ink absorption prevents smudging and maintains sharp detail across multiple sheets. Heavy 305 gsm weight feeds reliably in compatible inkjet printers without curling during long sessions. Natural fibres ensure colour stability remains uniform from the first page to the last.

Questions about this item

Do I need a specific printer type for this 305 gsm cotton rag paper?

The paper is designed for inkjet printers; the 8.5x11 inch cut sheets feed through standard desktop and wide-format inkjet trays that accept 305 gsm media.

Will the slightly higher white point of this Ultra Smooth version clash with prints I have already made on Photo Rag 308?

The Ultra Smooth has a slightly higher white point than the Photo Rag 308, so side-by-side comparisons may show a subtle brightness difference.

How can I verify the 100 % rag surface is performing as intended after my first print?

Check for sharp detail rendering on the ultra-smooth surface, consistent ink absorption without smudging, and the expected matte finish with vibrant colour on the white base.
