Converts a 29-pin SAS SFF-8482 drive to a 22-pin SATA interface, supporting 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives with 6Gbps data and 12v+5v power
Model 1 Pack
This HANNORD adapter converts a 29-pin SFF-8482 SAS drive connector to a standard 22-pin SATA interface. It passes both 12 V and 5 V power lines together with 6 Gbps data. The assembly includes screw holes for secure mounting inside a chassis.
Use this converter when a motherboard or controller offers only SATA ports but the drive on hand uses the SAS SFF-8482 plug. The jump is worth it if you want to reuse existing SAS drives without buying a dedicated SAS HBA or backplane.
Verify the drive presents a 29-pin SFF-8482 edge connector and that the 22-pin SATA male end can reach your motherboard or controller port. The adapter fits both 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA drives but does not convert SAS signalling to SATA protocol.

Other versions of this model
The adapter works with 2.5 and 3.5-inch SATA disks; the 29-pin SFF-8482 end connects to the drive and the 22-pin end plugs into the motherboard.
Connect the 29-pin SFF-8482 male end to the SAS drive, then plug the 22-pin 7+15 male end into the motherboard SATA port; the step often missed is securing the bracket with the screw holes.
No maintenance is required for the power lines; the adapter simply passes 12V and 5V through the 22-pin connectors, so replacement is only needed if the unit is physically damaged.
