Perfect Compatibility

This Toslink digital optical audio cable connects any device with a standard S/PDIF port. It links sound bars, TVs, gaming consoles like PS4 and Xbox, Blu-ray players and DACs. The male-to-male design fits straight into optical inputs and outputs. It is built for home-theatre and desktop setups that use optical audio.

Gold-Plated Signal Integrity

The single specification that decides fit is the 24K gold-plated Toslink connector pair. Corrosion-resistant tips and buffer tubing keep the optical path clean for uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1 to 7.1 surround streams including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Removable rubber caps protect the ends when unplugged.

Six-Foot Reach and Heat Resistance

At 6.56 ft the cord spans typical TV-to-sound-bar or console-to-receiver gaps without strain. The nylon-braided jacket resists twisting, yanking and stretching. The cable withstands heat up to 135 so it survives behind warm AV cabinets. It will not reach across large rooms or between separate equipment racks.

Questions about this item

What does the 6.56 ft length mean for routing between my TV and soundbar?

The cable spans just over two metres, giving enough slack to route behind a media unit or around a corner without pulling tight on the Toslink ports.

What does the Toslink interface cap in practice for surround formats?

The optical link carries uncompressed PCM stereo and compressed 5.1 or 7.1 streams such as Dolby Digital and DTS; it cannot pass lossless Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio bitstreams.

What clearance do the gold-plated connectors need behind the equipment?

Each male plug is a standard square Toslink connector with a removable rubber tip; allow space for the plug body and the braided cable bend radius directly behind the port.
