Hanwha Wisenet X-Series 5MP Outdoor Dome

The Hanwha XNV-8080R is a new 5MP outdoor dome camera built for professional surveillance. It records at a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 at 30 fps. The varifocal lens provides 2.4x optical zoom between 3.90 mm and 9.4 mm focal lengths. Video is encoded in H.264, H.265, MJPEG or MPEG-4 AVC over a wired connection.

Ideal for Fixed Outdoor Monitoring

This camera suits installers who need a single vandal-resistant dome with motorised zoom for entrance or perimeter coverage. Buyers who want wireless deployment, built-in storage or multi-sensor panoramic views should look at other form factors. The 90-day seller warranty also limits appeal for projects requiring long-term manufacturer backing.

2.4x Optical Zoom Varifocal Lens

The 2.4x zoom range from 3.90 mm to 9.4 mm is the specification that decides fit. It determines the field of view and identification distance at the mounting point. If the scene requires wider angles or longer reach than this range delivers, a different lens specification is needed.

Questions about this item

What kind of network recorder or switch do I need to power the XNV-8080R over the single Ethernet cable?

The camera needs a PoE-capable network video recorder or a PoE switch that delivers power over the Ethernet connection; it draws its supply from that single cable.

Will the XNV-8080R record smoothly alongside my older 1080p cameras on the same NVR?

Yes, the XNV-8080R streams at 2560 x 1920 using H.264, H.265, MJPEG or MPEG-4 AVC at up to 30 fps, so an NVR that accepts those codecs can record it together with 1080p cameras.

How can I confirm the varifocal lens is actually zooming between 3.90 mm and 9.4 mm after installation?

Open the camera's web interface or NVR client, adjust the zoom control and watch the field of view narrow from wide to telephoto; the live preview will show the optical range changing in real time.
