Compact mushroom-style speaker

The Harman Control 85M is a JBL Professional 2-way loudspeaker designed for indoor and outdoor installations. Its green finish and 8 ohm impedance suit commercial background music and paging systems. The compact mushroom-style enclosure allows discreet mounting in retail, hospitality or covered patio areas.

Simple surface mounting

The speaker installs with a surface-mount bracket that secures to ceilings or walls using standard hardware. Wiring connects via a terminal strip inside the weather-resistant cabinet. Ensure the mounting surface supports the unit and that cable glands are sealed to maintain the outdoor rating.

Consistent output for long sessions

The 2-way driver arrangement delivers stable frequency response during extended operating periods typical of all-day background audio. The 8 ohm load presents an easy match for commercial amplifiers running continuous duty cycles. Thermal protection helps prevent compression during sustained playback.
