Silt Sock for Erosion Control

The Home and Country USA Silt Sock is a filter fabric designed for sediment and erosion control management. It serves as an alternative to traditional silt fence for perimeter control, inlet protection, and concrete washout applications. The product is supplied new in an 8-inch width by 150-foot length.

Installation Without Trenching

This sock installs easily without trenching, making it suitable for ground that is frozen or solid. It avoids disturbing the earth further, which can cause additional erosion issues. The design allows stacking to increase height and customization to fit awkward areas such as low valleys or steep slopes.

Suited for Storm-Water Management Sites

It suits contractors managing storm-water drainage, stream pump-arounds, or dredging silt filtration. Buyers needing a trenched silt fence solution or a product for permanent structural retention should look at something else.

Questions about this item

How do I know the silt sock is filtering sediment correctly after installation?

Check that water leaving the sock runs clear and that solids accumulate inside the fabric, showing the filter is trapping sediment and soluble pollutants as designed.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The product ships as an 8-inch by 150-foot filter fabric sock; stakes, fill material and any fastening hardware are not included and must be sourced separately.

Which length should I choose for my project?

The sock is supplied in a 150-foot roll that can be cut to fit the site, and multiple sections can be stacked to increase height on low valleys or steep slopes.
