HP 499250-201 redundant power supply

This 460W 12V common-slot unit delivers redundant power for HP ProLiant DL380 G6 G7 Gen8 DL380P servers. It fits the common-slot bay and supports hot-swap replacement without downtime. Designed for data-centre racks that require continuous uptime.

Thermals noise and power draw

High-efficiency design reduces waste heat and lowers acoustic output during normal operation. The 12V output matches server backplane requirements for stable delivery. Redundant architecture shares load between modules to keep temperatures and fan speeds low.

Questions about this item

How is the 499250-201 power supply installed in a ProLiant DL380 G6 chassis?

Slide the unit into the common-slot bay until the latch clicks, then secure the retention screw; the step often missed is tightening that screw, which locks the redundant connection.

What maintenance will the 460 W 12 V supply need during its service life?

Clean the intake vents quarterly to prevent dust build-up on the internal fan; if the hot-swap LED shows a fault, replace the entire module — no user-serviceable parts inside.
