HP Designjet T850 Large Format Printer

The HP Designjet T850 is a large-format inkjet printer designed for A0 output with integrated scanning and copying. It uses a six-colour system and 300-ml cartridges to reduce ink interventions. Built-in Ethernet and Wireless LAN support network and mobile printing for technical and creative teams.

Suited for multi-size workflows.

This printer suits professionals who need quick A3 to A0 prints, scans and copies in one compact device. It fits offices prioritising secure collaboration through HP Wolf Pro Security and HP Click software. Buyers needing faster throughput or roll-feed capacity for continuous production should consider other options.

25-second A1 colour print speed

The device produces a colour A1 page in 25 seconds at 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution. This speed determines whether the printer matches project deadlines for CAD, GIS or graphic output. Teams with tighter turnaround requirements will need a higher-specification unit.

Questions about this item

What Ethernet standard does the Designjet T850 use and what throughput does it cap at?

The printer connects via Gigabit Ethernet, which in practice caps throughput at 1 Gbps for print jobs and scanner data.

What physical space and mounting does the T850 require to fit in a studio?

It is a compact floor-standing plotter with an integrated A3/A0 roll tray and a front-loading scanner, so it needs level floor space and front clearance for media loading and scan access.

How is the T850 installed, and which step do users often miss?

After network connection, install HP Click software and register the printer with HP Wolf Pro Security; the step often missed is completing the security enrolment before enabling remote printing via the HP app.
