Purpose-built laptop

The HP EliteBook 650 G9 is a 15.6-inch business notebook powered by an Intel Core i5-1235U deca-core processor with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. It runs Windows 11 Pro on 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The anti-glare IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution at 250 nits and 45% NTSC colour coverage. Connectivity includes Thunderbolt 4 with USB-C, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Who this suits

Mobile professionals who need a managed, vPro-ready device with hardware BIOS protection and a full port selection for docks, external displays and wired networks will find the spec matches their daily workload. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a discrete GPU for rendering or gaming, or a higher-colour-gamut panel for colour-critical work should look at other models.

Deciding specification

The sealed 8 GB DDR4 configuration is the single factor that determines suitability: if your workflow fits within that memory ceiling the laptop is ready to deploy, but if you need more RAM at purchase or the option to upgrade later this unit cannot meet that requirement.
