Business-ready 14" laptop for office workers

The HP EliteBook 840 G4 ships with Windows 10 Home on a 14.0" 1366 x 768 HD display. A dual-core Intel Core i5-7300U at 2.6 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD handle everyday productivity tasks. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory.

Simple setup with standard business ports

Open the box, connect the included charger and press the power button — Windows 10 completes first-run configuration automatically. One full-size DisplayPort, one VGA port, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port and a Gigabit RJ-45 jack cover most legacy and modern peripherals. The SIM card slot requires an active data plan from a mobile operator to function.

Display and connectivity limits to consider

The 1366 x 768 panel limits on-screen workspace and cannot drive external monitors beyond its native resolution over VGA. USB 3.1 Type-C provides data only — no video alt mode or power delivery is specified. Wireless 802.11 b/g/n caps throughput on congested networks, and the integrated GPU relies on shared memory, reducing bandwidth for graphics-heavy workloads.
