Ready-to-deploy business laptop

The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is a 14.0-inch Full HD notebook that ships with Windows 11 Pro installed. An 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor runs at 1.9 GHz and boosts to 4.2 GHz. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB PCIe M.2 SSD handle everyday workloads.

Aluminium chassis with modern ports

The silver unibody houses a non-touch 1920 x 1080 display and a front-facing webcam. Intel Dual Band Wireless and Bluetooth 4.1 provide cable-free connectivity. Two USB 3.0 ports and USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort functionality cover peripherals and external monitors without adapters.

128 GB SSD sets the storage floor

The single 128 GB drive limits local capacity for large media libraries or virtual machines. Buyers who need more space should plan for cloud storage or an external drive. The 16 GB DDR4 configuration uses two 8 GB modules and supports upgrades up to 32 GB.

Questions about this item

What does the USB Type‑C port with DisplayPort support actually deliver?

The USB‑C port carries DisplayPort video out and USB 3.0 data, so you can drive an external monitor and connect peripherals through the same connector.

What are the chassis dimensions and mounting points for a dock or sleeve?

The 14.0 inch silver aluminium unibody measures 14 inches diagonally; it uses the standard EliteBook side docking connector and accepts any 14 inch laptop sleeve or briefcase compartment.

How is Windows 11 Pro activated on a fresh install, and what step is often missed?

Windows 11 Pro comes pre‑installed and activates automatically on first internet connection; the step users miss is completing the initial OOBE setup before joining a domain or encrypting the drive.
