Professional mobile workstation

The HP EliteBook 840 G7 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built for professionals who need reliable performance while travelling. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a quad-core Intel Core i5 10310U processor at 1.7 GHz with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display uses LED backlighting and integrated Intel UHD Graphics.

Suited for office productivity and remote work

This configuration suits users who prioritise a lightweight chassis, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and Wifi 6 for cloud-based workflows. Buyers who need a dedicated graphics card for rendering, a larger storage volume for local media libraries, or a touchscreen for pen input should look at other models. The Grade B cosmetic rating means visible wear is present.

32 GB DDR4 soldered memory

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory that cannot be upgraded after purchase. If your workload requires more than this capacity, the laptop will not meet the requirement. The 256 GB NVMe SSD and integrated graphics are secondary considerations compared with this fixed memory limit.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB NVMe SSD need replacement if I run out of space?

The 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD is the primary storage; you can add a larger NVMe drive later if capacity becomes limiting.

What thermal limit appears first when the Core i5-10310U runs at 15 W all day?

The 15 W TDP processor will hit its thermal ceiling before the fan reaches maximum speed, so sustained loads throttle clock speeds first.

How loud and hot does the laptop get with the 15 W CPU and shared-memory graphics under constant load?

Expect moderate fan noise and warm keyboard deck; the 15 W chip and integrated UHD graphics share the same cooling system.
