Durable Chassis With Modern Ports

A silver aluminium body rated Grade B shows visible scratches or shiny key wear but no structural damage, so the device feels solid in daily carry. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one HDMI output, Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5 give flexible docking and peripheral options without needing extra adapters.

Upgrade From Older Ultrabooks

This unit replaces machines limited to 720p screens, mechanical drives or single USB-C ports, delivering 1080p touch input, fast NVMe storage and dual Thunderbolt 3 lanes. Buyers who need discrete graphics, more than 8 GB RAM or a larger display should consider other models.

Questions about this item

What is the practical bandwidth limit of the Thunderbolt 3 ports on this EliteBook 840 G7?

The two Thunderbolt 3 ports support up to 40 Gbps each, enabling dual 4K displays or a single 5K monitor while also delivering power and PCIe data for external GPUs or NVMe enclosures.

What physical clearance does the 14.0" chassis require for the 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD slot?

The laptop uses a standard M.2 2280 slot inside the bottom case; you need a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the base cover and about 5 mm vertical clearance above the motherboard for a single-sided drive.

How is Windows 11 Pro activated after a clean install on this Grade B unit, and what step do buyers often miss?

The licence is stored in the motherboard firmware; after installing Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, connect to the internet once so Microsoft servers can recognise the hardware ID and activate automatically.
