Business-ready 15.6 laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G6 is a 15.6-inch laptop built for professionals who need a reliable daily driver. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe M.2 SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD panel uses LED backlight and is non-touch.

Thunderbolt 3 single-port limit

One USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port handles video, data and charging, so only one high-speed peripheral or external display can run at full bandwidth at a time. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and one HDMI port provide additional connectivity for legacy accessories. Gigabit Ethernet and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 cover wired and wireless networking.

Upgrade from dual-core ultrabooks

This replaces older dual-core ultrabooks that struggle with multithreaded workloads and lack Thunderbolt 3. The jump is worth it when you need four cores, eight threads and a fast NVMe boot drive in a durable silver chassis. Buyers who want a dedicated GPU, more than 8 GB RAM or a larger SSD should look elsewhere.
