HP EliteBook 850 G6 Business Laptop

The HP EliteBook 850 G6 is a 15.6 inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i7-8665U processor with four cores and eight threads at 1.9 GHz. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display.

Suited for office work and remote management

This laptop suits professionals who need a managed Windows 11 Pro device with Thunderbolt 3 docking and Gigabit Ethernet for wired networks. The 16 GB memory handles typical multitasking and video calls with the built-in webcam. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. Users requiring a touchscreen or larger local storage capacity will not find those features here.

Quad-core i7-8665U with 8 MB cache

The Intel Core i7-8665U provides four cores and eight threads with 8 MB L3 cache at a 15 W thermal design. This CPU determines how quickly the laptop completes business applications, compiles code and runs virtual machines. The 1.9 GHz base frequency and shared graphics memory define the performance ceiling for this configuration.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern does the 15.6 inch chassis use for VESA or desk mounts?

The EliteBook 850 G6 is a clamshell notebook without VESA holes; it sits on four rubber feet and does not accept a mounting bracket.

Which driver must be installed first so the Thunderbolt 3 port can pass video to an external display?

Install the Intel Thunderbolt controller driver from HP before any graphics driver; without it the USB-C port will only carry data and power.

When the 256 GB NVMe drive reaches its write endurance, what form-factor replacement fits the M.2 slot?

Any 2280 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD will slide into the same slot; clone the drive or reinstall Windows 11 Pro before swapping.
