HP EliteBook 850 G8 with Tiger Lake i7

This business laptop runs Windows 11 Pro on a quad-core Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor at 3.0 GHz with 12 MB cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The 15.6 inch non-touch display shows 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution over LED backlight.

Suits mobile professionals needing Thunderbolt 4

Two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 3.1 Gen 1 port plus HDMI cover docking and display needs. Intel Dual Band AX201 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 handle wireless. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics or a larger screen should look elsewhere.

2 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD decides storage fit

The single drive provides 2 TB of fast solid-state capacity with no optical drive or second slot mentioned. If your workload demands more internal storage or a secondary drive bay this unit will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 4 ports work with my older USB-C dock that only supports USB 3.1?

The two Thunderbolt 4 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.1 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 devices, so your existing dock will function at its rated speed.

How can I confirm the Intel Iris Xe graphics are active after I install Windows 11 Pro?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and verify that Intel Iris Xe Graphics appears without a warning icon; the driver version will match the Windows 11 Pro installation.

Does the box contain a Thunderbolt cable or do I need to buy one separately?

The package includes the laptop, charger, and installed battery only; a Thunderbolt 4 cable is not supplied and must be purchased separately.
